  • Make connections with professors and staff! You never know what opportunities it may lead to (i.e.: research, internship, letters of recommendation)! 

Joyner Library Resources (Main Campus) 

  • Reserve a study room 
  • Printing 
  • University writing center 
  • Borrowing equipment 
  • Calculators, chargers, headphones, laptops 
  • Free E-textbooks (don’t need to always buy!) 

 The Pirate Academic Success Center (PASC) 

  • Free tutoring services 
  • By appointment, digital tutoring on Canvas, and jumpstart videos, Walk-ins Tuesday & Wednesday from 4-6 pm 
  • Study skills coaching and workshops 
  • Coaching sessions to develop an individualized plan 
  • Test-taking skills, improving study habits, textbook reading tips, effective notetaking in lectures, time management, etc. 
  • Academic mentoring

The EC Study Center 

  • Open for students, campus ministries, and faculty to come  
  • Free coffee and Study snacks 
  • Quiet homey rooms and a sunroom to study in 
  • Free counseling & small group discussions

 The University Writing Center (UWC) 

  • Writing consultants can help with papers at any stage of the writing process 
  • Specifically trained for the needs of ECU Classes 
  • 3 locations: Joyner Library, Online Writing Lab, and Laupus Library

The ECU Career Center 

  • Assist you with choosing a major to plan a career 
  • Helps create resumes and cover letters (submit online or by appointment)  
  • Assist with searching for jobs and internships and interview preparation 
  • Located on 5th Street 
  • Holds Job & Internship Fairs 
  • Professional Purple Closet (clothes you can borrow for interviews) 

ECU Center for Counseling and Student Development 

  • Offers therapeutic counseling services for students who may be experiencing personal, relationship, academic, or other issues 
  • Location: Room 137 Umstead Hall

The College Advising Center in Health and Human Performance 

  • Academic advisors provide direction on what courses you should take 
  • Assist with adjusting schedules and changing majors 

Laupus Library Resource (Health Science Campus) 

  • Reserve a study room 
  • Rent study tools from the library 
  • Computers, iPads, skeletons/anatomical models, etc 
  • Printing/ Poster Printing  
  • Virtual reality lab
